A Few Thoughts

We also need to be much more in tune with what’s going on nationwide behind the walls & connecting up with families & formerly incarcerated out here to really cohere a mass movement for prison liberation. We are working on getting some solid components to facilitate that in place…

I’ll have a lot more to say regarding all of this soon, hopefully. Trying to get the chessboard set up piece by piece… But we live with the effects of prison (& some of us solitary confinement) moment to moment, & we are tying to get some real preliminary treatment going as well.

Some of us who came straight out of solitary after years or decades, we grew up in prison & solitary. And we jumped right in to the struggle as soon as possible when we got out. That lead to political prosecutions & retraumatization of being sent back for our political work, too.

And it’s really sad for me to have to say this, but the overwhelming majority of peeps we’ve worked with out here do not have the faintest clue as to how all of this affects us – even after numerous attempts to explain it. So the only conclusion is that they consciously don’t care.

They’ve made conscious decisions to use us for their own agendas, taking advantage of our heartfelt sincerity about doing whatever we can to fight this system. And then when we live with & try to deal with the after-effects, they’re nowhere to be found.

Then they make excuses & fabricate pretexts to abdicate their responsibilities & utter failures to live up to treating & communicating with us as actual human beings, much less “brothers” or “sisters” or “comrades” – projecting their own unprincipled decisions & acts onto us.

Or invite police organizations to national organizing events re stopping police terrorism & mass incarceration, refuse to respond to detailed critique of it ahead of time, then try to sweep it under the rug & refuse to allow a principled discussion of it at the event, or ever.

And because I’m the one who raised such vitally necessary critique, they fabricate some abysmally absurd rationalization of why I’m the one at fault for posting a few extremely serious questions regarding the right to self-defense when 3 people a day are getting murder by police.

You have people & groups that have been allegedly fighting racism & capitalism for half a century & not only have not made much more than a scratch on the system, but will not even step back & re-evaluate their practice, cuz “hey X happened again so we must do Y, no time to think.”

And some who claim to be highly serious & theoretical about overthrowing this system, but can barely organize a coherent strategic plan for a demo, irresponsibly sending young folks into dangerous, situations with zero serious preparation.

Or “revolutionaries” who think nothing is wrong with stopping directly in front of a police checkpoint to answer a cellphone & then yell out my name as I’ve already executed the plan discussed 5 minutes prior & am far past the checkpoint mixed in with a sea of people…

Or sending people into street battles with Nazis & acting surprised when they get attacked (& not prepared to fight or even defend themselves?) Or jag off dozens of “comrades” into years-long political prosecutions for played out symbolic theatrics – as police KILL 3 peeps a day.

We are way past the time when there should be well-organized & serious armed self-defense patrols on every police-occupied block, at every protest. By those who can legally do so at this juncture. Quit fucking playing with these aimless “marches” & hollow slogans.

I must again say: tens of millions of principally Black & Latinx young folks are legally barred from owning arms due to mass incarceration. That’s one of it’s principal purposes: to crush any potential new formations of revolutionary youth like BPP, Young Lords, Brown Berets, etc.

I’ll have more to say on all this soon. But peeps need to get serious about the war that the State has been waging against us for decades. In no other country could police kill 3 peeps a day & there be no international outcry & intervention to end it & prosecute government officials…

Some things have been moving on a slower track than I intended or would like, but I’ve drastically cut down the number of people and groups I’m working with – in large part precipitated by extremely unprincipled and absurd shit that brought to light very important reevaluation of where I should be focusing – and recognizing that I needed to step back from being involved in a lot of things in order to try to deal with some of my own issues from solitary, prison, PTSD, etc.

Some significant things are starting to come together. I’ve come to some important recognitions about some of the writing I need to do and get out of my head. And some of the organizational structure and strategy is cohering.

But having my closest brother kidnapped by the State back in May – June and held for a ridiculous $50,ooo ransom, and being the main (sometimes only…) one hustling and organizing to get him released within about 10 days – and having to go into the jail that kidnapped me and held me under $2,000,000 ransom (later dropped to $1,000,000…) and sent me to trial from solitary confinement when I was 17 – was a curve ball that took a lot of energy…

Anyhow, I’ve made it through some ups and downs, had to recognize that opportunists who are not the least concerned about my own well being are much better off out of my life (and no longer distracting me and sucking my energy into played out, non-serious and frankly dangerously irresponsible theatrics), and some significant pieces of the strategic chessboard are moving into place. I’ll have more to say soon…
